Trees add extra insulation for our homes; serving to keep heat out in the summer and repel cold in the winter months. <br />The benefits trees offer our landscapes are far reaching, literally! With leaves offering shade/cooling as well as insulation, their roots reach deep to provide structure for soil - helping to ease erosion problems.Got Composthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07414095210731975482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1036545330856558234.post-49465434726757670192011-12-19T16:24:03.748-08:002011-12-19T16:24:03.748-08:00Thanks, Kate. I just planted a new tree in front of my house. One of the reasons I planted it was to keep our house cool in the summer and reduce stormwater runoff. Never thought about it helping to keep our house warm in the winter!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00680688284434397750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1036545330856558234.post-7080940424936050582011-11-08T15:00:54.752-08:002011-11-08T15:00:54.752-08:00Great article on the importance of soil organic ma...Great article on the importance of soil organic matter!
